D.C. United was my first official job out of college. I joined the club at the beginning of the 2019 season as a designer. As a part of a small marketing team, many of the club’s assets fell on me and my partner. We created digital, print, animated, web, social, stadium, and signage graphics.

My time at United gave me a huge opportunity to grow as a professional designer. I was able to have my hands on all forms and facets of visuals. I was able to be creative while also having to adhere to brand guidelines that were set in place by former designers. The fast-paced environment made me think on my toes constantly and look for ways to better improve the situation.

A major highlight of the position was the ability to work face-to-face with players. Sometimes, I would get their feedback on personal graphics OR I would have them stage for video or photos. Most notably, I was able to work alongside Wayne Rooney. I had the opportunity to help with his socials and his podcast with Men In Blazers.

Another major highlight was creating the stadium signage and design of Segra Field, the new home of United’s USL club, Loudoun United.
