Major League Soccer Graphics (Lead Designer)

During my time at Major League Soccer, my role focused on creating fast, strategic, and visually engaging design across social, editorial, branded, and league-led content.

I supported a wide range of graphic needs, from daily social assets and editorial visuals to executive requests for Commissioner Don Garber. The work required a balance of speed, strong hierarchy, brand consistency, and creative impact. To improve efficiency, I developed templates and design systems that allowed both designers and non-designers to quickly adapt assets when needed.

MLS’s visual style at the time leaned heavily into grit, texture, bold contrast, and high-energy sports design. I helped extend and refine that look across multiple content formats while ensuring the work remained legible, timely, and visually distinct from traditional sports graphics.

I also created custom visuals for key moments that required a more elevated approach, such as standout player performances, major match highlights, YouTube thumbnails, and website features. These pieces often needed to be concepted and executed quickly while still feeling original and polished.

A major part of the role also involved integrating partner and sponsor branding into MLS creative. I developed assets for campaigns and events tied to Heineken, Allstate, BODYARMOR, Audi, Leagues Cup, and others, ensuring each partner’s identity was incorporated while still feeling aligned with the MLS brand.

Overall, the role required speed, flexibility, and strong creative judgment across design, editorial, social, UX/UI, motion, and branded content.
